I choose to be a mother

Most of you will know that I love love love Moomie (you can find the link in my side bar). One of the moms loaded one of her favourite poems and I just had to share it with the world.

Thanks Charnenay you just made my day!

Some houses try to hide the fact
that children shelter there;
Ours boasts it quite openly…
the signs are everywhere.
For smears are on the windows,
little smudges on the door;
I should apologize I guess
for the toys strewn on the floor,
But I sat down with the children
we played, laughed and read,
And if the door bell doesn’t shine,
their eyes will shine instead.
For when I’m forced to choose
the one job or the other
It’s good to be a housewife
but I’d rather be a mother!

  1. Very good! My gran always said that nobody died wishing they had spent more time dusting. That is my motto, to enjoy life and my child!
